ঢাকা থেকে যাবার আগেই মনে মনে নিয়ত করা ছিলো, এবার সেন্ট মার্টিনের সূর্যাস্তের ছবি তুলবো। প্রতিবার সেন্টমার্টিনে গিয়ে যেই অদ্ভুত সব দৃশ্য আমি দেখতে পেয়েছি, সেটা এবার সবার সাথে শেয়ার না করলেই নয়। তাই যাবার আগেই যাবতীয় হোমওয়ার্ক আর রিসার্চ করে গিয়েছিলাম। এবারের সেন্ট মার্টিনে যাবার মূল কারণটাই ছিলো সুর্যাস্তের ছবি। আর বাকি যা ছবি তুলেছি সবই ফাও পাওয়া।

দুপুরে পৌছেই কোনমতে ব্যাগ রেখে ক্যামেরা হাতে দৌড় সৈকতের দিকে। ভর দুপুরে লোকেশন রেকি করলাম বেশ চিন্তা ভাবনা করে। জায়গাগুলো আগে থেকেই বেশ ভালোমত চিনতাম বলে সময় লাগেনি তেমন, ঢাকা থেকেই মাথায় প্ল্যান ছিলো। তবুও স্যাম্পল ছবি তুললাম। সাগর তীরের সিজনাল দোকান আক্কাসের চায়ের দোকানে বসে ১৫টাকা দামের ডাব খেতে খেতে কাঠফাটা রোদে তোলা লোকেশনগুলো চেক করলাম। বাই দা ওয়ে, বলে রাখি যারা সেন্ট মার্টিনে যাননি, বা গিয়ে ডাব খাননি, তারা ডাবের সংজ্ঞ্যা জানেন না। একটা ডাবে ৫/৬ গ্লাস পানি হয়, এবং সেই ডাব জুসের চেয়েও  সুস্বাদু হয়। খেতে খেতে হাঁফ ধরে যায়!

অবশেষে এলো আমার বহুল প্রতিক্ষিত ম্যাজিক আওয়ার (সূর্য ডোবার আধঘন্টা আগে ও পরে)। আমি ঝাপিয়ে পরলাম ক্যামেরা নিয়ে। তুললাম এই ছবিগুলো।

Before I started my journey to St. Martin, I had a plan to photograph sunset. I got to share what I have seen every time I traveled this island. So, I studied and researched a lot beforehand. Sunset's photo was my prime objective, rest photos were just bonus.

Reaching on afternoon, I rushed to the beach. When sun was burning my brain out of my nose I was planning for the evening shots, surveying rock formations, possible sunlight direction, etc. As it was twice I already had been to this part of the island, I had pretty clear idea about the place from where I planned at Dhaka. After I am done with planning, I sat on the lonely bamboo made stall selling coconuts. Let me mention, people, who haven't been to St. Martin, or been there but didn’t try this coconut, they don’t know the definition of coconut. Each of the coconuts had 5/6 glasses of juicy tasted. You'll get tired drinking'em up.

And there came my long awaited sunset, I just jumped off to it with my camera:

এটা সূর্য্য ডোবার আগের মূহুর্ত। অনেক অনেক অনেক দিন পর কিউমুলাস দেখতে পেলাম। ঢাকার আকাশে মেঘগুলো অভিমান করে আর আসেনি এই বছর। আর যখন এসেছিলো শরতে, আমি তখন অর্ধেকটা সময় হসপিটালে, বাকি অর্ধেকটা অসুস্থতায় গৃহবন্দি। তাই আমার প্রিয় মেঘগুলো দেখে পৃথিবীর সবকিছু ক্ষমা করে দিয়েছিলাম।

It was right before sun went down. I could see white cumulus after a long time. Clouds weren’t here in Dhaka for such a long time. When came on early Autumn, i was admitted in hospital and on bed rest till they went away. So I was really happy seeing my buddies up on sky after such a long time. I forgave world for everything, right at that moment.

আমি দুঃখিত, সাধারনত একই রকমের বা কাছাকাছি রকমের ছবির মধ্যে আমি যে কোনও একটা ছবি আপলোড করি, কিন্তু এবার লোভ সামলাতে পারলাম না।

I am sorry; I usually don’t upload photos of similar look, except for this time. I couldn’t deprive any of them.

ঘরের ছেলে যেমন লক্ষীমত সন্ধ্যাবেলায় চুপচাপ ঘরে ঢুকে পরে, তেমনই ঢেউগুলো পাথরের খোড়লে ঢুকে পরছিলো।

The waves came back to their home before sun went down, like a goody goody boy.

আমি যেখানে দাঁড়িয়ে ছিলাম, তার ডানে ও বামের দু’টি ছবি। একবার ভেবেছিলাম একটা প্যানোরামা তুলে নিই, মানুষ দেখুক কি অদ্ভুত একটা সময়। তারপর ভাবলাম, কি দরকার; কিছুটা দেখে বাকিটা কল্পনা করে নেবে না হয়।

 These photos are two sides of where I was standing. I was thinking of taking a panorama, but I didn’t. let people imagine rest of the view, in between.

আস্তে আস্তে যখন সূর্য্যটা পুরোই ডুবে গেলো, আমি তখনও দাঁড়িয়ে সাগরের উপর বিছিয়ে থাকা প্রবাল-পাথরে। ভাটা শুরু হয়ে গিয়েছিলো, একটা দুটো করে পাথর উঁকি দিচ্ছিলো পানির নিচ থেকে, আর আমি একটা করে পাথর এগিয়ে যাচ্ছিলাম সামনের দিকে। সূর্য ডুবে যাবার পর তোলা এই ছবিগুলো সাগরের মাঝখানে আধো জেগে থাকা পাথরগুলোর উপর দাঁড়িয়ে তোলা, যেখান থেকে তীরে ফিরতে আধঘন্টারও বেশি লেগে ছিলো। এবার বুঝুন কতটা দূর পর্যন্ত সাগরের উপর দিয়ে হেটে যাওয়া যায়। মনে হয় এভাবে হেটেই লিওনার্দো দা ভিঞ্চি পানির ওপর হাটার ছবি এঁকেছিলেন।

 When the sun went down in whole, I was still standing on the sea, on the rocks spread around. Low tide started, rocks were unveiling themselves one by one. And I was walking on one after another. Took this photo after sun was set. All of a sudden I turned back and found I am long far from land, standing on rocks raised above water. It took half an hour to step to beach, it was that far.

নেশাগ্রস্থের মত দেখছিলাম সাগরটাকে, চিৎকার করে গাইবার মত সাগর নিয়ে একটা গান খুঁজছিলাম মনের ভেতর আতিপাতি করে। পাইনি। এই ছবিটা দেখে কারও মাথায় কি এরকম কোনও গান আসছে? যদি আসে আমাকে জানাবেন, কারন এর পর যদি আমি আবার এমন মূহুর্ত পাই, তবে যেন বেশি ভাবতে না হয়।

 I was watching the sea, sunset like totally stoned. I was searching for a song inside the song bank in my brain for a song, a song I could sing screaming standing on the rocks, out there. I couldn’t find any. If any of you know a song like this, let me know. I don’t wanna keep mum next time I’m in such a situation.
